Hey Sean-

I'm SO excited to finally meet you in person this year at N2Y4! I'm really jazzed to be part of the mix.

I think you nailed it on the head here: I might not be an iPhone developer but that doesn't mean I can't contribute, learn, share insights, and even collaborate on mobile technologies with a social benefit bent. Technology that is literally in the hands of our communities is so powerful; I think N2Y4 will be a blast!

Thanks for sharing your call here :)

The Netsquared website is also hosting the mobile applications for human rights (University of Berkley) Mobile Challenge. Submissions ended today and community voting begins on Monday 23rd of March.

There are over 40 projects there and the top 10 will go through to the final. There are some great projects submitted and it would be good to see some of the projects and tools working together.

There's $30,000 for 3 winning Projects to be awarded at the international conference, "The Soul of the New Machine: Human Rights, Technology, and New Media," at UC Berkeley, May 4 and 5, 2009.

Sean, meeting you at N2Y3 continues to be a highlight of that event.

Thank you for sharing Ethan's words here: "There's a long, long road from speaking to being heard." I was just talking with Social Action's Joe Solomon today about the long, long road from being heard to seeing another's behavior shift in response to what they're hearing anew.

So much more to be done along that road, and NetSquared is an important resource for those walking along it, technology in hand.
