<description>I have to say that Bill's book Grassroots Philanthropy was my favorite nonprofit book of the year. Here's what I had to say about it:

<description>"informed, responsive, respectful, humble, reflexive, empowering." those are great adjectives that any philanthropist should want to be identified with.

Thanks Christine.</description>

		<description>Hi Sean,

Peter Deitz recently passed a copy of Somerville's book to me, and I'm reading it with an eye towards how his method of assessing/analyzing prospective grantees could inform an individual's assessment/analysis of all kinds of social action initiatives. Seems to me that Somerville encourages the same kind of engagement from foundations that Social Actions encourages across the sector -- informed, responsive, respectful, humble, reflexive, empowering. Lots of good insights from Somerville all across the board. Thanks for bringing attention to them!
